Look at this nifty old tea kettle my girls found! Someone had left it in the creek behind our house, and they fished it out and brought it home.
We cleaned it up and heated it on the stove to dry it thoroughly. The enamel is chipped in several places and there are dents in it, but doesn't it have character? I thought it would look cute in the space on top of my kitchen cabinets.
Our Guatemalan friends will think we are crazy when they see an old tea kettle decorating my kitchen.

oh most definitely treasure!
you know years ago, i'd fish junk out of trash piles and friends thought i was a complete loon... now they comment on the charm of all those junk-y things, lol!
By me, it's a treasure! =)
Congrats on your new little one that y'all are expecting!
Thanks for your nice comments and prayers for our Colombian visas and another rental house for us!
Also, thanks for your sweet poem for Elijah. =D
Have a super weekend in Jesus!
And how cute it is too!!
I can just imagine your Guatemalan friends looking at some of these beautiful homes in the States that are solely decorated with flea market finds. If they're puzzled with an old tea kettle, what would they say about an old wagon wheel hanging on the front of a house? :-D
it's incredible a lot of things bad things are happening right now in guatemala an people forget how beautiful nature is and what nature can provide us I hope people don't forget about all this miracles...
LOL, you're right, Elizabeth. We puzzle them on many fronts! ;o)
very cute:)
Congratulations! What a beautiful family you are growing :)
Your big ones seem just the type for helping out a little more and letting you have some extra rest.
I am loving how quickly this place is greening up!
Beautiful!
I'd give it a place of honor...give it a new name.....just like Christ did us when he found us on the creek!!
Treasure! It would look great on top of the cabinets with a few sprigs of ivory or other vine coming out of it.
I like it!! I think it would look so sweet with some white Impatience occupying it.
I put a plant in my old tea pot - I love old things.
