Making Flour Tortillas

I've posted before about making homemade tortillas, but back then I had issues with making the tortillas come out round. My children were guessing the animal shapes (I wasn't making any on purpose), and while it's true that a homemade tortilla in any odd shape is just as yummy, they hold the veggies and the salsa so much better when they are round! So here is the technique I've learned, through much experience, on video just for you.

¡Buen provecho!

*Special thanks to my camera girl, Jessica!*

Points to remember (in case you can't hear what is said on the video):

1) Start with a smooth, seamless ball. You can spread the dough ball smooth over the top, pinching it underneath, and pat it smooth.

2) Roll it out flat a little at a time, in all directions.

Oh wow, Tammy! I thought you had fallen off the edge of the Earth. So glad to know you're still around. You've been snobbing your Blogger friends lately. Hey don't forget about us who don't do Facebook, we still wanna know how the Coates are doing.

I've missed your posts. Traci is always telling me about you on Facebook and I'm jealous!
Maybe this post is the beginning of your return. HOPE SO!

BTW, your tortillas look delish! We used to make tortillas all the time and keeping everything well floured so you can turn them is the key. Yours look really good!

I loved hearing your little one in the back ground. So sweet.

BTW, Hannah thought Jessica did a great job with the camera. She said to tell Jessica hi for her.

Hey when are you guys due for furlough? We're headed back in December and this time we'll be leaving a kid behind. Cody is 18 in two weeks and it'll be time to leave him. BOOHOOHOO!

Anyhoo, sorry this is so long, I've been waiting for a post for a while! This is the beginning of many, right!!!

Love ya girl!

Thanks for the encouraging video to help me want to try tortillas again; every other time I've tried they ended up crumbly and stiff. I'll find your recipe and go for it!
