Finished apron

I really love sewing, and I really love aprons, so this was a fun project for me! Best of all, I was making it for a dear friend's birthday present, so it was all the more a pleasure.

The pattern is a McCall's. I was going to make the frilly view B, but wasn't sure she would like it. I settled on view C, but added some lace to make it feminine, just right for my friend.

I used fabric that is a bit heavy, but not as heavy as denim. Perfect for a sturdy apron!

This was my first attempt to make bias tape, and - wow - that is a lot of folding and pressing! It was so worth it. I am really pleased with the nice finished edges. But I'm seriously thinking of buying a bias tape maker, folks.

The lace was super-easy to add in. I like this apron so much, I'm thinking of making one for myself.

...After the bias tape maker arrives. ;o)

BRAVO!! Great job Tammy! I love the fabric and the lace was the perfect touch. I'm sure your friend will love it!

Oh yea and bias tape makers are totally worth their weight in gold. They make a job that takes 2 hours into a 10 minute wonder.

I love it. It is really cute. Wish I could sew better than I do. I like the colors too. My mom always says I am drawn to stripes and plaids. I guess I am.
