We were awakened this morning by an earthquake at about five a.m. I tell you, if you really want to jump out of bed ready to go in the morning, get one of these.

years ago we had a teensy tiny earthquake in our part of the world, and it was a thing i'll never forget, yikes! I hope yours was small and harmless♥
Although earthquakes are nearly impossible where we live (Lu 21:11), we had one several years ago. It was really scary, but nothing really happened. It didn't even wake me up.
But, I would be completely terrified if I had gotten the wake up call y'all did this morning. Glad that everyone is safe.
I had never felt the earth move until we moved here. It is an unforgettable sensation.
This one was a 4.7 on the Richter scale at it's epicenter, which was miles away offshore Chiapas, Mex. We've definitely felt stronger ones, but this was enough to wake me from a sound sleep. That's saying something, lol!
There is a neat site where you can see where in the world earthquakes have occurred, their magnitudes, and all. That link is in my right column under "Links of Interest". I enjoy going there whenever we have a tremor, to see where the epicenter was.
Wow, I've never been in one and it's not on my top 10 to do list.

Not sure I want to awake that way. That might be worse than waking to the sound of your child throwing up! I'm assuming you are all OK and that you even still have electric and computer and all since you were able to post about it.
It sure is a strange sensation!
I experienced my first earthquake (as a missionary at language school in Costa Rica) in January and have been awakened a few times by small ones since then. We read somewhere that homes here often have wind-chimes inside, away from windows & wind so that the family will be quickly alerted to an earthquake.
I'm thinking it's a good idea. :) Glad you're safe!

;-D My best friend wakes up to a big old shake most mornings. That would be because she has a Deaf alarm clock AKA a giant pad that you put under the mattress and it shakes for a minute or two to wake you up. That's what I thought you were talking about until I realized that you're not Deaf :)
LOL! No, I'm not deaf. Although my husband might contest that sometimes. :op
